Working with Parents

We operate an ‘open door’ policy, which means that parents can approach their child teacher or request a meeting with the headmaster at any time during the term.

Email contact is kept with the parents throughout a school year. Parents are encouraged to contribute to their child’s learning through a ‘Parents’ testimony’ that can be submitted to their child’s teacher at any time. This enables us to understand and implement some of pupil’s interests gained outside the school environment.

Individual Parents’ meetings take place at the end of each term. This is not only to share your child’s progress, but also to advise on how to help your child at home with developing certain skills.

Coffee mornings will take place once a term. The topics of discussion might vary from ‘fussy eating’ and ‘behaviour management’, to ‘helping with phonics’ or ‘reading with your child’.

Events, such as an Easter Egg Hunt, Christmas Show and Sports Day are also held, in order to give parents an opportunity to get involved in school life.
